한국에서는 '하늘이 노래지다, 눈앞이 깜깜해지다.' 등등 색깔의 변화로 상황을 설명하는 표현이 많은데, 미국에서는 세상의 종말에 비유하는게 더 일반적입니다. 

비슷한 표현으로 'It felt like the end of the world.' (세상이 끝나는 것 같았어요. (같은 느낌이이었어요.))'가 있습니다.
